Surlingham Play Area
Surlingham Parish Council is pleased to launch the public consultation for the proposed refurbishment of the village play area.
**The consultation has now closed**
The consultation will run from 1 April to 30 April 2026, and we’re inviting all residents to share their views on the designs, equipment options, and overall layout.
Your feedback will directly influence the final proposals, so we encourage everyone—especially families and regular users of the play area—to take part.
Why are we consulting?
The village play area is now almost 20 years old, and several pieces of equipment have reached the end of their safe and usable life. The tractor has been condemned and will be removed shortly, creating an opportunity to install new, modern equipment in its place. The multi‑play unit is also showing significant wear, and the Parish Council would like residents’ views on whether it should be repaired or replaced.
There is also space within the play area to introduce additional equipment. We’d love to hear your ideas and preferences so we can shape a play space that reflects what the community wants.

Play Area Designs/Ideas
In 2025, Surlingham Parish Council met with several play area contractors to explore options for improving the village play space. Below are some of the draft designs and equipment currently under consideration.
